Machinery for processing aluminium profiles

Aluminium windows need very accurate cuts, machining for hardware and mechanical corner assembly. Below are the LGF machines for each step, in the order the profile moves through the workshop.

The workflow of an aluminium window

StepWhat is doneSuitable LGF machines
1. CuttingCutting bars at 90° and 45° (or compound angles)double-head saws or single-head saws
2. MachiningHoles and cut-outs for hardware, locks, handles, drainageCNC centres or copy routers
3. End millingShaping the transom end for the T-jointend milling machines (Derna, Star, Dixi, Lola)
4. AssemblyCrimping corners with aluminium cleatscrimping machines (Hermes, Scriba)
5. LogisticsSupporting bars, measuring, cleaningroller conveyors, chip extractors

Cutting

For aluminium, the double-head saw changes the pace of the workshop: it cuts both ends of the bar in one pass, at the exact length entered on screen.

Which machine should I buy first for an aluminium workshop?

Usually a double-head saw or, to start with, a single-head saw. Without accurate cutting, nothing else can be done correctly. Machining can start on a copy router, and a CNC centre comes when volume grows.

What compressed air is needed?

LGF pneumatic machines work at 7 bar, according to the data sheets. The required air flow differs from model to model.
