Cutting saws for aluminium and PVC profiles
Cutting is the first step and it sets the accuracy of the whole window. We explain the difference between single-head and double-head saws, what semi-automatic and electronic mean, and which LGF model fits your volume.

| Single-head saw | Double-head saw | |
|---|---|---|
| How it cuts | one end at a time; the bar is repositioned | both ends at once, at the set length |
| Best for | small workshops, short parts, special cuts | batch production, long bars |
| Productivity | lower | much higher |
| Space | compact | needs room for the bar length (4–6 m and more) |
Semi-automatic or electronic?
- Semi-automatic (MX): the operator sets the length, the heads tilt pneumatically. Good value for productivity.
- Electronic (Digit): the positioner moves the mobile head to the length on screen and can read cutting lists. Fewer measuring mistakes.
- With controlled axes (Digit Plus): the head tilt is also set electronically, at any intermediate angle.

What cutting length do I need?
Profile bars are usually 6–6.5 m long. If you cut full bars without pre-cutting, choose a cutting length close to the bar length; otherwise a shorter version saves space.
What is a compound cut?
A cut tilted in two planes at the same time, used on some façade profiles or special jobs. Urania is designed for this.
Do the saws come with blades?
Many models do – for example Urania, Gamma Digit, Atlas and Sirio include blades as standard. The exact standard equipment and blade diameter are listed in each data sheet.
